Kitchens are the “heart and soul” of your home.  Kitchens should be functional and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.  Clean and free of clutter.  There are so many selections that many people are not aware of that can be added when ordering new cabinets or added later where possible to existing cabinets.  These items will make your life easier and more streamline and only you will know because most of these are behind                     “CLOSED DOORS”

Holiday Tablescapes

Thanksgiving 2014 – Our holiday table.  Table display needs to be as delicious as the food that we eat.  It does take lots of time (if you are like me) and lots of planning.  I have to have it perfect without any details left out.  When the table looks inviting and beautiful sometimes a beginner cook can serve a just so so meal and everyone will enjoy it because they are visually looking at beauty.  Enjoy these photos.

Bold Color in your Home or Outside

I am wanting to see what you think of these bold moves and colors in the rooms?  I am sure there is not 1 safe thing that has been done here.  Personally, I could not relax but I could maybe pass through and say…..hmmmm, that’s different.   Maybe I could say that the purple and yellow looks like Easter.  Maybe I could say that the hot colors with pink, aqua, slime green and black make me “jumpy”.  The colbalt blue and orange dining room is crazy with color and patterns.  Whoa, then the sectional in 3 in your face colors and patterns but then just had to add that 1 more pattern to the fireplace wall.

I think it’s very “fad” and not going to last more than a season.   You can judge.

What to do with collections

Many of you have a bit of a “collecting ” in us… but what do you do with it?  Do you buy it and put it away or do you display it to share with your friends?

I would use the most favorite pieces of your special interest collection and put them as a group in a focal point of your home.  What I would not do is put a little here and a little there all over.  You want your display to look well thought out and not jumbled up.

In order to do this,  I would lay them out on the floor if you are choosing to hang on the walls and play with the grouping before hanging them. If you are just using a surface to display or a cabinet, of course you can also move those items much easier to get it just right so everything is well balanced and shown perfectly.

Here are a few photos to give you some ideas of pretty displays of collections.  If you have any questions please email sandra@sandrabunndesigns.com.
